Welcome to the Watt Club!
Some of our graduates have gone on to create successful microbreweries in Edinburgh and around the world. Some of our designers have set up their own label or worked on TV shows like Game of Thrones. There are marine graduates who changed their own lives so they could change their world.
We have entrepreneurial computer scientists who are forming start-up companies, and who have created one of the best known boardgames in the world. Our grads are making sporting history in the US, they are thought leaders in business, and are award-winning film-makers and novelists. Some even risk their own lives to improve the lives of children.
And this blog is where we shine a light on them, celebrate their achievements, and inspire potential and current students to follow in their footsteps.
The Watt Club is the alumni (graduate) association of Heriot-Watt University – the oldest alumni association in the UK. There are over 96,000 alumni in over 180 countries. Upon graduation, membership is automatic and free.
Our mission is to connect students and graduates of Heriot-Watt University with each other and the University. We aim to provide tangible benefits to alumni, which make a real difference to their professional and social lives.
Every graduate of the University, as well as certain graduates from Heriot-Watt College, Edinburgh College of Arts, Moray House and the Scottish College of Textiles are automatically members of The Watt Club.
Even before you graduate and become a member, you can follow this blog, and follow us on Facebook and Twitter. We have over 12,000 graduates on our LinkedIn group – why not see how they can help you in developing your career?
Get ready for joining a network that will be with you for the rest of your life.
We are proud of all our graduates, and as such we often provide links to their books, websites and companies to help promote them in their careers. These links are for information only, and are not endorsements of any kind from the Watt Club or Heriot-Watt University.
